Scaling Tectonic clusters on AWS

Edit the AWS Auto Scaling Group (ASG) to change the size of Tectonic clusters.

The following example scales a cluster from two nodes to three.

  1. Open a browser and go to AWS EC2.
  2. From the left nav, select Auto Scaling Groups.
  3. Check the box to the left of your Tectonic cluster. From the drop down menu Actions, select Edit.
  4. Change the three fields Desired, Min, and Max from 2 to 3. This is the number of worker nodes in your cluster. For more nodes, pick a higher number.
  5. Save.

During the next ASG health check, the cluster will scale to the specified size. The default health check occurs every 10 minutes.
